What a weekend it has been.
First off let me give a big shout out to all the volunteers that came out this weekend and made the races run as smooth as possible.
Another big shout out goes to the drivers who were at Driver School and/or moved up from Time Trials and came back out to join us for the weekend. If you are wondering, yes, the first weekend is the hardest.
And I want to congratulate our first time winners Kyle Jones (#13 Spec Neon) and Merritt Scott Collins (#77 ITB). Both of them got a splash of water at the trophy presentation along with first time winner in Time Trials, John Lee (2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo RS).
Joel Hershoren did a quick post on the forums that includes PSA's and a little overview that can be viewed here. You are also more then welcome to join the conversation on the forums, post pictures/videos, and ask questions. We also have a trade section there if you are looking for some parts for your race car, or have a surplus of parts that you like to get rid of. We also have a Facebook group that you can join.
As the drivers get ready for the next race weekend, the track stays busy with rentals by clubs, corporations, and/or groups who want to have their own open track day. Some of the clubs that are coming out this month include: Southeast Michigan Porsche Club of America (May 8th), Rally Sport Region Porsche Club of America (May 13th), and Shelby American Automobile Club - Motor City Region (June 2nd). They are always looking for people to come out and join them so don't be afraid to contact them about coming out.
Waterford Hills will also be hosting its second Open Track Day on May 25th. Spots fill quickly so make sure to register as soon as possible here. More information on Open Track Day and registration for future events can be found here.
The Michigan Kart Club will also be coming back this year for a two day event on May 31st and June 1st. Anyone with an interest in karts is welcome to come out.
The next race weekend at Waterford Hills will be on the 7th and the 8th of June. Hope to see everyone there :).
