Race Weekend #1 is quickly approaching and the New Registration Team has been hard at work laying the foundations for you racers to use MotorsportReg.com to register for races at WHRRI. First of all, I would like to thank the Kroms and the Krom family for many wonderful years of service at Waterford. The systems they designed and used for Registration as well as Timing/Scoring were a great asset and have worked well for many years. Myself and the Registration Team have huge shoes to fill, and my only hope is to be as successful and effective as they were for many years to come. But as the torch gets passed, some new and more efficient technologies have evolved that can make my job, as well as the jobs of the individuals in Timing/Scoring much, much easier. So this is my plea... I know change can be uncomfortable, as well as uncertain, but often necessary to move forward. I strongly urge all you racers at Waterford to log on to MotorsportReg.com, create a profile, and begin to familiarize yourself with what a great tool this platform truly is. Your credit card information is safe and secure, and for now we have the option for racers to "pay on site". Your credit card only "reserves" your entry and allows Registration and Timing/Scoring to retrieve the information it needs to get ready for Race Day. Please complete your entire profile: car class, transponder number, WHRRI number, car number, car color, sponsors, address, as well as emergency information. The more information you provide will only speed up the registration process on Friday and Saturday. Those who register through MotorsportReg.com will move quickly through the line as opposed to those who do not and have to rely on myself or the Registration Team to enter in all their information – because it is necessary for your information get saved into the system so that it can then be transferred over to Timing/Scoring on Race Day. Myself, and I hope the rest of the Registration Team, will be in the tower from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday for Registration as well as on Saturday from 8:00am to 9:45am. I would also ask for patience and understanding as we fumble through this first year. It is a lot to take on and organize as this new program is very extensive. But it will provide us with all the necessary tools we need to make our Racetrack a professional, well organized, and accountable system. On a personal note, a shout out to Andrew Surratt , Bruce MacDonald, Franz Lieder and Anne Roeske for helping me with this. I could not have even begun to do this without all of you!!!
