Race Weekend 1

Good morning everyone. As we near the season opener I can't help but come on here and invite everyone to come out and enjoy some great racing.

For people who are unfamiliar with the track. Waterford Hills is a road course located at the Oakland County Sportsmen's Club. The track is open to the public so you don't have to be a member to come out. For those who use GPS the address is 4770 Waterford Road, Clarkston, MI 48346-3453. More information on getting there can be found here.

We will be racing on both Saturday and Sunday with the first car on track at around 10 o'clock. Saturday has practice for all the groups first followed by a race. Sunday starts with a race in the morning follow by a feature. With 6 groups running this year that is 18 races total over the weekend. Continuing this year is Time Trials, where you pick a lap time to try and get as close as possible. It's also great for getting some on track time for those who don't have a fully prep race car. All that is required is a drivers licenses, a Snell 2000 or better helmet, and the car has to pass a simple tech inspection. More info can be found here.

Weather for the weekend is looking... rainy. 30% chance of rain on Saturday and 50% on Sunday. In Michigan this can mean anything from sunshine to a downpour. Good news is that we do race in the rain. In fact I don't mind the rain at all as now you got drivers fighting for position, going as fast as possible, and with the rain trying to keep the car from sliding off the track. If you want to keep up on the weather you can visit the National Weather Service here. Weather for Clarkston will be coming from Oakland County International Airport.

Ticket prices are 5 dollars at the gate. For a extra 5 dollars you can also get a paddock pass what lets you get a closer look at the cars and a chance to talk to the drivers and/or the people who help get the cars together. The paddock pass is good for both days so make sure to keep the wristband. 16 years and younger are free as long as they are with a adult. Parking is also free. We also have concessions at the track.

With that I invite everyone to come out to the track and enjoy the weekend with us.
